"Profusion" stone sculpture

This is a rather ornate new creation carved from a piece of Indiana Limestone and attached to a base with a stainless steel pin.  The top piece measures 55" high x 14" wide x 6" thick.  The base is a triangle because I designed this piece to fit into a corner.  The back edges measure 28" and it is 3" thick.  I'm estimating the total weight around 200 lbs.
This is the back view.  The vine portions of the plants have a rhythmic chisel texture that contrasts to the polish of the berries and the leaves.  !!!SOLD!!!

"Akin" stone vessel

"Little Bit of Soul" stone sculpture

This sculpture is a new direction for me - I've inlayed white Alabama Marble into a small sculpture of Indiana Limestone.
It is signed 9-26-18 and has a radial pattern of chisel marks that contrast with the deep polish of the inner and outer forms.
 It measures 17" x 12" x 14" high, weighs 76 lbs. and will sell for $580.00.
 Here's the back view.
I included this photo because of the raccoon in the background.

"Flutter" stone vessel

This functional sculpture is titled "Flutter" and is signed 9-18-18.
It is carved from a single block of Indiana Limestone, measures 16" x 13" x 15" high and weighs 62 lbs.
 Here's some alternate views...
… and coming around the back.
This is the top view.  It will sell for $580.00.

Fireball Sprout Vessel

This is a fairly involved vessel form called "Fireball Sprout" and is a marriage of 2 popular motifs in my work: Shooting Stars and Floral Forms.

It was signed on 9-11-18. It will sell for $780.00.

Eagle Vessel

This new vessel in Indiana Limestone represents a Bald Eagle with a bush texture that is white for the head and body and a high polish which makes the stone darker.
It's a fairly large piece, mostly intended for the outdoor garden.  It weighs 55 lbs. and measures 27" long x 15" wide and is 6" high.
It was signed on 9-6-18 !!!SOLD!!!

"Kentucky River Sprout" stone sculpture

This sculpture follows a common theme in my work where I am symbolically referring to "Self-Renewal".
Kentucky River Marble, 9" high x 7" wide x 6" thick, 5.0 lbs., 1-30-18, $480.00

"Sparks" marble vessel

The subject matter was inspired by a combination of flames and of a bird taking flight.  The front 'petal' is the head of the bird and it is lifted up and ready to take to the skies.
Tennessee Pink Marble, 12" wide x 8" long x 4" high, 5.5 lbs.,2-9-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Harvest" marble sculpture

This sculpture is a metaphor for the fall harvest - but it is symbolically intended to reflect that time in a person's life...
Idaho Travertine, 13" high x 11" wide x 5" thick, 8.1 lbs., 2-18-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Ascent" marble sculpture

This marble sculpture is symbolic of the human spirit, soaring heaven-ward and free of its mortal coil.
Alabama Marble, 11" high x 8" wide x 6" thick, 9.0 lbs., 2-16-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Cozy" stone vessel

This functional sculpture was inspired by someone close to me, wrapped in a blanket.
Indiana Limestone, 8" high x 12" wide x 6" thick, 8.2 lbs., 7-13-17, !!!SOLD!!!

"Lobed Leaf" stone vessel

The design for this functional sculpture is a result of following what the stone had to offer.  When I "free carve", I let the stone dictate what direction it wants to go...
 Indiana Limestone, 17" long x 9" wide x 7" high, 11.3 lbs. !!!SOLD!!!

"Fly Forever" stone vessel

This functional sculpture was inspired by all the flying dreams that I have.  The egg shape between the wings is intended as a symbol for Infinity.
 Indiana Limestone, 20" long x 16" wide x 4" high, 14.6 lbs., 3-22-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Whirlpool" stone vessel

This functional sculpture was inspired by the appearance of spiral glyph patterns that I noticed in both Celtic art of Great Briton and the art of ancient Native Americans in my region.  There is also the stylistic composition of river eddies, as seen in the nearby Ohio River.
Indiana Limestone, 17" in diameter and 4" high, 14.4 lbs., 3-23-18, Check with the KY Artisan Center inBerea for availability.

"Inverse" stone vessel

The subject matter was inspired by the new spring leaves, but I adapted the design to fit the concept to reflect 'Inner Composure'.
 Indiana Limestone, 20" long x 15" wide x 8" high, 15.5 lbs., 3-9-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Drop In The Ocean" stone vessel

This sculpture is a reminder to not lose one's individuality in the crowd.  There's a conceptual 'twist' to this piece; there are ocean waves in the drop...
 Indiana Limestone, 20" long x 10" wide x 12" high, 22.5 lbs., 3-14-18, !!!SOLD!!!

"Back Petal" stone vessel

This functional sculpture has a title that is a play-on-words; instead of a stem, this leaf has a flower petal.  The concept for this sculpture is to not keep banging your head when you come up against a wall.  Sometimes a halt or retreat is the right course of action.... until things open up again and allow an advance.
 Indiana Limestone, 20" long x 16" wide x 9" high, 23.2 lbs., 3-16-18, !!!SOLD!!!
