This is a functional sculpture (stone trough) that was inspired by all the stone troughs in Great Britain.
Most stone troughs are rectangular...and...well...boring. I decided to have some fun with the proportions and design elements.
It is carved from a single block of Indiana Limestone. Most of the surface is polished, but the diagonal design elements have a stippled bush texture to create visual and tactile interest. It measures 46"L x 22"W x 13"H and weighs approximately 1,000 lbs.
I included this picture to help you get a sense of scale (cat not included). This piece sells for $1,800.00
